Print designs in the correct orientation
Before placing an order, it’s important to make sure the elements in your artwork are properly positioned so the whole design has the correct page orientation when you order prints in Canva.
If you plan on printing locally, it's best to consult with either the printing company or the manufacturer of your printer if you'll be printing from home.
Double-sided documents
When printing two-sided documents such as business cards, tags and flyers, the printer assumes the design is in landscape orientation and flips the paper horizontally when printing. This can be an issue, especially when a portrait design is created on a landscape template, or vice versa.
For the best printing experience, use a template suited to your design’s orientation.

Double-sided mirror design
When working on designs with mirrored layouts (such as those commonly found on yard signs), make sure the back is flipped horizontally compared to the front. This ensures elements like arrows point in the intended direction on both sides.
Folded cards
Here are the correct orientations for portrait and landscape folded cards. You can refer to the mock-up shown after choosing the inside and outside pages to see how the design will look when printed.
If you’re located in the US, note that the inside pages of folded cards are always displayed first on the mockups for both landscape and portrait orientations.

Landscape orientation
When designing landscape folded cards, the panel for the back cover needs to be inverted so it will "stand up" when the material is folded.
Fixing your design
If you’ve used a template with an orientation that’s different from your design, try these workarounds:
Option 1: Resize your design to match the correct orientation or layout for the type of design you’re working on.
Option 2: Flip and rotate the elements on the page. Make sure the page that will be printed on the back is facing the opposite direction to the first page.
If you’ve already received your Canva Print order with the wrong page orientation, adjust your design by following the guide above and contact us for further assistance.
